Tuesday Tips
Trying to conquer those fears that you have? Whether it’s in your everyday life, or in your business, fear will keep you from being successful! Here’s a quick tip to overcome your fears, and develop the courage you need:1. Take some index cards, and write one fear on each card.
2. Order the cards – least scary on top, most difficult on bottom.
3. Now take action!
Start with the fear that is on the top of the pile – the one that scares you the least. Tell yourself, “I WILL do this today!” Then take whatever steps are necessary to accomplish the task.
You may need to “pysch yourself up”.
Ask yourself “What is the worst thing that can happen to me if I do this?” Usually the “worst” is nowhere near as bad as you thought it would be.
Then ask, “What will I gain by accomplishing this task?” Even if the answer is just that it will help you overcome another fear down the line, go for it!
When you’ve completed your easiest task, overcome your least scary fear, give yourself a reward – something that makes you happy. (Yes, that old psychological trick causing you to equate overcoming fear with getting a reward. It still works!)
Keep repeating this process until you have defeated all your fears! Fear is a part of life, and a part of business, but when you have gotten to the point where you KNOW you are capable of facing anything that obscures your path, you are well on your way to success!
“F.E.A.R. is an acronym for Fantasized Experiences Appearing Real. I’ve come up with a new acronym: F.O.C.U.S., which means Fantasized Outcomes Creating Unlimited Success”
